The USQ Library offers services and access to resources to former USQ students.

How to join the USQ Library

Join the USQ Library in person with a photo ID and a document showing your current address.
The first 12 months after graduation are free of charge.
You can then decide between a six month membership ($16.50) or a 12 month membership ($27.00).

Facilities

The following facilities and equipment is available for use within the Library (equipment may vary between different campus libraries).

  • library catalogue computer terminals
  • photocopiers
  • microfilm and microfiche reader
  • audiovisual (AV) equipment such as DVD and video players
  • study rooms.

Library services and access

Access to resources - on-campus access is available to selected USQ databases and ebooks. Also, off-campus access to online databases such as public resource databases is available, which includes databases such as:

  • USQ ePrints - USQ ePrints is an open-access electronic archive of research papers and other materials produced by USQ staff and students.
  • ERIC - Education Resources Information Center
  • Teacher Reference Center 
  • PubMed - This contains biomedical journal citations and abstracts
  • Trove Australia (National Library of Australia catalogue) - Australian and online resources: books, images, historic newspapers, maps, music, archives and more

We also provide access to print/audiovisual resources in the Library.
You can use your alumni UConnect login and password to access the computers on campus with the Internet and Microsoft Office applications.

What you can borrow

  • up to 10 books from the Main Collection
  • up to five items from special collections, such as: Curriculum, Music Scores and Maps Collection.

Items can be renewed up to 10 times; each loan period is two weeks. Alumni cannot borrow items from the AV Collection, Course Readings Collection or short term loans.

Interlibrary Loans

Items not held by the USQ Library can be requested from other Libraries. Just fill in the Interlibrary Loan form (PDF* 39 KB) and either mail, fax or email it back to the USQ Library. We charge $16.50 per request. USQ loans guidelines apply in terms of loan amount and length.
