Category	How to join
On-campus students	Take your student card to the Library Loans Desk in your campus Library to register for borrowing.
Off-campus students	You will only need to join if borrowing in person from one of the campus Libraries. Take your student card to the Library Loans Desk in your campus Library to register for borrowing. If you do not have a student card, other photo ID will suffice.
Permanent staff	Register in person at the Loans Desk in your campus Library. You do not need to bring any documentation with you.
Contract staff, visiting scholars and honorary lecturers	Register in person at the Loans Desk in your campus Library. You will need to bring a copy of your contract to verify employment, or have your supervisor or a relevant Faculty staff to email confirmation of your employment (including contract staff and finishing dates) to libloand@usq.edu.au.

Students and staff from other universities and TAFE

Students and staff from other universities and TAFE can join the Library at no charge.

Category	How to join
Students and staff of other Australian universities	Join in person at the Library Loans Desk. You will need to bring: Photo ID Proof of current enrolment or employment (for students, this must be an enrolment notice or similar. Current student cards or study materials are not adequate proof. For staff, a payslip or letter of introduction from your home library) Proof of residence eg driver's licence, electricity bill, rates notice.
Students of overseas universities	You must first obtain a letter of introduction from your home university Library. This letter must be on official university letterhead, contain the contact details of the Lending Services supervisor (or equivalent), outline the course in which you are enrolled, and must provide a statement of indemnity for lost or damaged material borrowed from USQ Library. You can then join in person at the Library Loans Desk. You will need to bring: Letter of introduction Photo ID Proof of residence eg driver's licence, electricity bill, rates notice.
Students and staff from Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE (SQIT)	You must first contact the SQIT Library to arrange Reciprocal Borrowing. SQIT will email your details to the USQ Library. You can then join in person at the USQ Library Loans Desk. You will need to bring: Photo ID Proof of residence e.g. driver's licence, electricity bill, rates notice.
Students and staff from Bremer TAFE	Join in person at the USQ Library Loans Desk. You will need to bring: Bremer TAFE ID card Proof of residence eg driver's licence, electricity bill, rates notice.

USQ Alumni

Former students and staff previously employed by USQ are eligible to become Associate Members of the Library.

Members of the public and high school students

Members of the public can join the Library as Associate Members for a fee.
