How much you can borrow and for how long

This applies to both on-campus and off-campus students. Students living outside of Australia are not able to borrow material from USQ Library.

Off-campus students (More information on services to external students)	Same borrowing quantities as on campus students although items from the Course Readings Collection can only be borrowed in person.			Borrowing items with a loan period of two weeks or less will be given 1 extra week on their initial loan to allow for postage time (apart from Course Readings Collection items).

Course texts are available for a 3 hour loan from the Course Readings Collection.
In demand reference materials are available for a 1 day loan from the Course Readings Collection
Other reference and in demand materials and additional copies of course texts are available on a short term loan from the Main Collection.
Some items can be borrowed for extended periods for Education pracs and Nursing clinical. Ask at the Loans desk prior to borrowing.
Academics and Research students can request semester loans on standard loans. Ask at the Loans Desk or off-campus services prior to borrowing.
Fraser Coast students can borrow additional resources from the Fraser Coast Regional Council Library service.

*Requested items

If an item you currently have on loan is requested by another patron, the loan period may be shortened (depending on the initial loan period and if you have renewed the item).
You will be emailed a recall notice informing you of the new due date.
Fines will accrue from the new due date.

What you cannot borrow

Reference Collection material
Serials (Journals)
Toowoomba and off-campus students cannot borrow Springfield or Fraser Coast material (unless borrowing in person)
Off-campus students cannot borrow Course Readings Collection material
Associate Members, Alumni and Reciprocal Borrowers cannot borrow AV Collection, Course Readings Collection, or short term loan items.

To renew items

You can renew items that you have on loan up to five times as long as the items have not been requested by other students and are not overdue. The renewal period is from the date of renewal, not the original due date. To renew items either:

Contact the Library
Fraser Coast students go to the Login tab on the Fraser Coast Regional Council Library service homepage.

If returning books by mail, they need only to be posted by the due date. They do not have to reach the Library by the due date.
Off-Campus students posting back borrowed items use the Toowoomba by mail returns address above.
Fraser Coast students can return items to any branch of the Fraser Coast Regional Council Library Service.
