How much you can borrow and for how long

This applies to both on-campus and off-campus students. Students living outside of Australia are not able to borrow material from USQ Library.

Off-campus students

Same borrowing quantities as on campus students although items from the Course Readings Collection can only be borrowed in person.

Borrowing items with a loan period of two weeks or less will be given 1 extra week on their initial loan to allow for postage time (apart from Course Readings Collection items).

  • Course texts are available for a 3 hour loan from the Course Readings Collection.
  • In demand reference materials are available for a 1 day loan from the Course Readings Collection
  • Other reference and in demand materials and additional copies of course texts are available on a short term loan from the Main Collection.
  • Some items can be borrowed for extended periods for Education pracs and Nursing clinical. Ask at the Loans desk prior to borrowing.
  • Academics and Research students can request semester loans on standard loans. Ask at the Loans Desk or off-campus services prior to borrowing.
  • Fraser Coast students can borrow additional resources from the Fraser Coast Regional Council Library service.

You cannot borrow

  • Reference Collection material
  • Serials (Journals)
  • Toowoomba and off-campus students cannot borrow Springfield or Fraser Coast material (unless borrowing in person)
  • Off-campus students cannot borrow Course Readings Collection material
  • Associate Members, Alumni and Reciprocal Borrowers cannot borrow AV Collection, Course Readings Collection, or short term loan items.

  • If returning books by mail, they need only to be posted by the due date.  They do not have to reach the Library by the due date.
  • Off-Campus students posting back borrowed items use the Toowoomba by mail returns address above.
  • Fraser Coast students can return items to any branch of the Fraser Coast Regional Council Library Service.
