Learning resource development services
LRD provides support to faculty staff for the development of learning resources for on-campus and off-campus students. There is no direct cost from LRD to faculties for preparation of course packages.
LRD uses a course team approach to the design, development and production of learning resources.
Roles
The Design and Development Services section consists of Learning Resources Development Officers (LRDO). The LRDO's ensure learning materials meet USQ style and format specifications. They also ensure that all materials are reporduced within the limits of copyright legislation. The quality of presentation is closely monitored and careful cross-checking is undertaken so that materials remain consistent. .
Development and Production of Learning Materials
An LRDO is allocated to each course team to work with the subject matter specialists. In addition, other LRD staff and Learning and Teaching Designers (LTD) contribute as required, as part of multidisciplinary teams. These teams are responsible for the design and development of new courses as well as the regular updating and maintenance of existing courses.
To enable this to happen, close liaison is required between Learning Resources Development and other sections such as Creative Media Services and Digital Media Services.
