Graphic Design Studio

The Graphic Design Studio of Creative Media Services offers an inclusive creative design service for print/web and course revitalisation, graphic design, illustration, animation, cartooning and a desktop publishing service. Services are provided to all 3 campuses and sections/centres within the university.

The Graphic Design Studio offers excellence in both the creative and technical aspects of design. We have experience in working with business and government organisations and an in-depth knowledge and understanding of private and public sector requirements. We provide creative advice and consultation, and the strategies to achieve your objectives.

The collective skill and experience of our Studio team gives you more time to focus on your business.

The studio is also working towards providing suitable formats for delivering content on mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones.

The Studio provides technical and creative advice with consultation on illustration, design, layout and reproduction options. We offer design advice on printing formats and choice of paper stocks; we can coordinate your replication requirements with USQ Printing Services and other external reproduction providers. The Graphic Design Studio staff works with clients during the entire design process, from design development to the production of print/web and multimedia files.

We work as a unified team to provide a complete service.

If you would like to request a job, please take time to use our Graphics Pre-Checklist Request (doc 24kb). This will give you more information about the details you will have to consider before submitting the Work Request.

Is there a cost involved?

Under the Vice-Chancellor's 'One University' ideal, our design and illustration services are provided free for most USQ promotional products, services and cost centres. Please ask us to see if you qualify for this. Otherwise, we will be pleased to provide you with a quote for our services. 

However, we do charge for cost-recovery of consumables involved in the large format printing of posters (A2 to A0+). We will require, as acceptance of the quote, your USQ Cost Centre/Dept ID/Project No.'s from your Finance officer, or payment via USQ Finance cashier, before printing.

Quality Assurance and Corporate Standards

The studio provides a QA system of procedures and approvals ensuring a smooth workflow and a quality result.

For USQ clients, working with the Graphic Design Studio ensures the conformity of your project with the University's Brand Toolkit requirements and standards.

We interact with other University resources to obtain maximum benefits and services for our clients, eg USQ Printing Services, USQ Marketing's Web team and other Media Services sections.
