2012 Learning and Teaching Snapshots
Dear Colleagues,
I am inviting you to participate in USQs first Learning and Teaching Snapshots to be held from 13 - 22 March 2012. L&T Snapshots aims to open up discussions about how we go about our day to day work as facilitators of learning. Over four days and across our three campuses there will be a range of presentations, activities and a keynote presentation to begin these critical conversations. The snapshot is a taster of what we hope will be an exciting year of sharing our practices about teaching. L&T Snapshots launch the year in a positive way and introduce staff across USQ to many exciting and innovative practices.
We have invited Dr Geoff Mitchell (Director of Learning Environments at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT)) to speak at Springfield and Toowoomba Campuses and will be available via video conference to Fraser Coast. His focus is on how to design and develop central learning spaces that draw upon innovative uses of technology. We expect these sessions will be of interest to many. We have also introduced Hot topics at all campuses. At Toowoomba: Out of Hours: Workload and teaching using technologies. At Springfield and Fraser Coast: Landscapes in Learning and Teaching: Blending Curriculum.
The Vice Chancellor will also relaunch the USQ Teaching Academy and present 2010 and 2011 USQ Citations. We will showcase excellence and innovation of our winners and share digital practice. A real highlight is Magic Moodle media and much more.
Be sure to check out our program (PDF 305KB) and register (search for Snapshot courses for those sessions you are interested in). I look forward to welcoming you to further learning and teaching events throughout 2012.
