Friends of McGregor

Are you a Friend of the McGregor Schools?

The Friends of McGregor Schools Inc. are worth joining!  Your membership entitles you to a discount on the Summer, Winter and the Spring Schools tuition fee within the 12 month period from when you join.  You must be a financial member at the time of enrolling to be eligible for the discount.

Aim

The aim of The Friends of the McGregor Schools is to assist the USQ McGregor Schools maintain and cooperate in the continuance of the Schools.  It is a not for profit group.

Objectives

The objectives of The Friends of the McGregor Schools are to raise funds to promote scholarships for students to attend in the name of previous persons who have made a contribution to the success of the McGregor Schools during its 43 years of operation to-date. The first bursaries were presented as "The Bunty Griffiths Memorial Bursary" at the 2004 McGregor Summer School. The "Margaret Clifford Bursary" was presented for the first time at the 2007 McGregor Summer School.  Margaret was the Manager of the Schools for 25 years and Bunty was a previous Chancellor of the University as well as a long time supporter and student of the Schools.

Committee

To ensure the smooth running of The Friends of the McGregor Schools is maintained the Committee consists of:

• Chairperson -  Col Blackley
• Secretary - Elizabeth Newbury
• Treasurer - Peter Collins

• Committee Member - Michael Pitney

• Ex-Officio member - Rebecca Scollen

Funds

Funds are raised through membership, raffles and donations. Income of The Friends of the McGregor Schools is applied solely in furtherance of its stated objectives. Membership is open to any person paying the Annual Membership Fee of $30.00.  Donations of money or raffle prizes are greatly appreciated.

Our grateful thanks go to the many tutors and students for their generous donation of prizes for the raffles.
