AccommodationOn-Campus Seniors and JuniorsMcGregor and Concannon Colleges are full. Contact the Office to be placed on a waiting list or contact Student Village on 07 4690 0000 for their costings and availability. The Student Village is located within walking distance of the University campus and other Colleges. “McGregor” is best experienced by staying in a Residential College. The atmosphere is filled with creative energy and the excitement of learning, interaction between tutors and students and the making of lifelong friends from all over the country and overseas. All rooms are serviced weekly and all linen is provided. Accommodation covers Tuesday night 6 January to Saturday night 17 January and the cost includes breakfast and dinner daily plus lunch on the weekend of 10 and 11 January. Junior students (including ETA) are housed in Steele Rudd College. Both are supervised by Blue Card certified live-in House Parents. (No bar operates in Steele Rudd College and smoking is not permitted). Students wishing to share a bathroom with a friend need to indicate their preference on both students’ enrolment forms. Also, while every effort is made to accommodate special requests this is not always possible as some rooms may be unavailable and McGregor College, in particular, fills up very quickly. For costings, please refer to our Fees and Payments Options page. Off-CampusAlternative accommodation arrangements will need to be made directly with off-campus accommodation suppliers. Students living off-campus may purchase a meal ticket in the Dining Hall of any of the Colleges. Dinner is $16.00 and Breakfast is $10.50. This is to be paid for when you order your meal. Weekend MealsLunch on the weekends will be in McGregor, Concannon and Steele Rudd Dining Halls for both on and off campus students, as all the University’s venues will be closed. The cost will be $13.00 for off-campus students. Students living in the Colleges do not have to pay. Special diets - please contact the Office. Please note that there is no smoking allowed in any of the buildings on the University campus, including the Residential Colleges. Arrivals: by air from Brisbane Airport
Arrivals: by carToowoomba is situated approximately 1 1/2 hours west of Brisbane - on the Warrego Highway and New England Highway. The campus of the University is located on the southern side of the city. DepartureTuition and activities will finish on Saturday 17 January at 4.00 pm. All students living in colleges are asked to vacate their rooms by 10.00 am on Sunday 18 January. Electrical EquipmentAll electrical equipment coming onto the campus of the USQ must be tag-tested by a qualified electrician in order to comply with the Queensland Workplace, Health and Safety legislation. Items include - hairdryers, radio/CD players, powerboards, power tools etc. |
