Flute
Tutor in Residence
Due to unforeseen circumstances Roxy Kavanagh has been replaced by Patrick Nolan from Brisbane.
Patrick Nolan was Principal Flautist with the Queensland Orchestra from 2001 to 2006 and before that, from 1987 to 2000, with the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra. He has presented numerous concerti with each. He has participated in recordings for ABC Classics, ABC Classic FM, Naxos, Tall Poppies and 4MBS Classic FM. At the end of 2006 he moved from orchestral life to pursue a number of other interests, including teaching. Patrick has been widely praised for his artistic direction of the highly successful Tenth Australian Flute Convention held at the Queensland Conservatorium, and for his coordination of the 1999 Australian National Academy of Music Flute Program.
Patrick is Specialist Tutor for Flute at the University of Queensland. He is a founding member of the Lunaire Collective, a group of Brisbane-based musicians and composers presenting a diverse range of chamber music.
