Paul O'Brien from Brisbane

Paul is a member of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra double bass section. He has worked extensively as a freelance player performing with the Melbourne, Adelaide, Tasmanian and West Australian Symphony Orchestras as well as the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Gulbenkian Orchestra (Portugal). In 2007 he was an ACO Emerging Artist and has been a member of the SSO educational ensemble Sydney Sinfonia. Paul is also actively involved in teaching across South East Qld in his home studio and at 3 schools. He studied with John Fardon, Dushan Walkowicz, Marian Heckenberg and Andrew Rootes and is a graduate of the QLD Conservatorium.
