Randal Sheerle from Brisbanesheerle

Randal is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music where he specialised on drum kit in the Jazz Studies program. He also studied classical percussion privately with Alan Cumberland of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Randal has over 20 years experience as an educator of percussion studies co-ordinating tutorials, group teaching, individual lessons and directing percussion ensembles in many institutions as well as private music programs and regional youth orchestras.

Professionally, Randal has performed extensively working with numerous international entertainers and musicians including the Queensland Symphony Orchestra; the Platters featuring Monroe Powel; Billy Washington’s Drifters’; John Rowles; Little Patty; Peter Cupples; Rhonda Burchmore; The Vegas Legends Short and many more.

Course Synopsis

This class is designed to cater for intermediate to advanced students and will focus on the development of various skills in the area of orchestral, concert band, percussion ensemble and contemporary percussion performance. The class will also explore the musical use of the drum kit in various situations such as stage band/big band and small ensemble playing.
