Sue Witham from Brisbane

Sue graduated with distinction from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and studied piano with Max Olding in Brisbane and piano accompaniment with Geoffrey Parsons in London. Well-known as a chamber musician and accompanist, she broadcasts for the ABC and appears regularly as keyboard player with the Queensland Orchestra. As well as teaching privately, she examines for the AMEB and adjudicates eisteddfods and competitions throughout Queensland. Sue is co-founder and past president of the Accompanists Guild of Queensland, and was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 1996 to study in the USA, UK, Italy and Germany. A life member of the Dante Alighieri Society, in 1998 she was awarded a scholarship for Italian language study in Florence, and in January 1997, received from the Dante Alighieri Society’s headquarters in Rome, the Bronze Medal and Certificate of Merit.
