This is an innovative class conceived to take students on a contemporary journey through the most popular styles of modern art that we know today. And, of course, we will do it with watercolour!
Firstly, we will define what ‘modern’ means and then explore with lots of hands-on painting, styles and techniques such as the loose wild line and colour that we know today as contemporary Impressionism and off into abstract art, symbolic art, modern Expressionism and even modern portraiture.
All of this fun will be augmented with slideshows, photos and narration. We will also use some exciting ‘medium adjusters’ such as salt, ink and plastic paper! This course will be wild fun – absolutely guaranteed! Other than exhausted you will be a different creative person when you finish…….
Estimated material cost: $0 - $300 – if you are an experienced painter you should have most materials. A materials list will be sent on enrolment or one can be requested from the office.
An enrolment form is available by either printing aform or contacting the office.
