Tutor in Residence
Sarah Larsen from Thangool
Sarah’s highly colourful and emotive paintings in contemporary and traditional styles tantalise your senses and often challenge you as they draw you in. Creating delicate silks, charcoal drawings, acrylics, watercolours, and pastels as well as larger multi- media works, sculptural pieces and assemblages, Sarah’s passion for painting and life is evident in every brushstroke. The combination of her technical skills with an intuitive knowing portrays the spirit, energy and essence of her subject matter. Predominantly a self- taught artist, Sarah has won scholarships to attend the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney (1995) and the McGregor Summer School (1999), and attended numerous other workshops including the Graham Nickson (from the New York Studio School) Drawing Marathon in Adelaide in 2004. She has been exhibiting regularly since 1987 and was selected as an exhibitor in the Biennale Internazionale Dell'Arte Contemporanea, Florence, Italy in 2003. Sarah teaches privately and at workshops throughout Queensland and New South Wales.
