David Taylor from Melbourne
David’s early training was as a colour etcher, studying etching at the North Melbourne Printing School. Now widely travelled, he is recognized worldwide for his services to the art of watercolour painting. His work has won numerous awards and is represented in many countries throughout the world. Most recently, he had work chosen for the National Collection in Shanghai, China. David believes in passing on his skills and this year will be travelling to Italy, the USA, the Yorkshire coast in the UK and France to help and assist others painting and working on location In 2011 he was awarded the Herald Sun Camberwell Rotary Gold Medal Open Art Award, and is a member of The 20 Melbourne Painters and many other groups and societies.
Class Synopsis
This class suits all those who wish to explore new horizons and push their boundaries with watercolour. Many methodologies will be used in learning new skills, and David will show you how to get more out of your subject without ‘throwing in the towel’. Both realist and abstract approaches to watercolour with be dealt with and encouraged.
The class will work on small to large paintings in a variety of subject matter. Bring along reference material for landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, figures, boats, buildings, reflections, mountains and still life. Techniques and methods will be address with class demonstration and discussion.

Materials
Estimated material cost: $0-$350 - experienced painters should have most materials. A list of requirements will be sent on enrolment, or you can request a copy for your perusal.
