Class Synopsis
This class will help students to acquire new painting skills and the enjoyment of painting with oil paint. An introduction and discussion of materials, paint application and design will be held at the beginning of the first session. The class will involve painting directly from the landscape and from the model together with material that Max will supply.
Students will learn about observation and how to interpret what they observe, and use that skill in their painting. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the use of light, color and tone. The course will include demonstrations by the tutor. Students will experience painting in the studio involving four sessions of painting the model and will be painting the landscape on location.
