Watercolour with Finesse

Tutor in Residence

Helen Beaver, Brisbane

Born in Melbourne, Helen completed her education in Brisbane majoring in Art and Art History at the Brisbane School of Art ("The Tech") gaining experience in sculpture, oil and acrylic painting, but it was the challenge of handling watercolours that inspired her to concentrate on this medium. She has won several awards for her drawings and watercolours, including the Rotary International Prize for Watercolour 2010 and 2012. Helen has been invited to participate in the Tattersalls Landscape Prize since 2005. From 20120 to 2012, she has been invited to exhibit works at the Tattersalls Club together with other prominent Brisbane artists of all mediums, to run in conjunction with the main Landscape Prize. Helen's work has been exhibited in Melbourne, Paris and New York, as well as Brisbane and its surrounds. A respected teacher and tutor of drawing and watercolour painting, Helen is in constant demand to conduct workshops from mid-NSW to South East Queensland where she resides.
