Ron began his art career full time in 1980. His first exhibition sold out in 1981. In 1982 he started private classes and from 1983 taught at Adult Education in Taree and Forster for 18 years as well as 8 years teaching at Taree TAFE.  Ron currently conducts three full classes per week with regular tutorials at Great Lakes Art Society.

Ron paints in watercolour, pastels and oils representing subjects from landscapes, animals, life etc. Ron has received many awards from exhibitions and is represented in several galleries as well as private commissions throughout Australia and overseas. He is recognised for his murals at the entrance to Wingham NSW, Coles and the Literary Institute in Taree.  He has tutored at Camp Creative, his experience in art is diverse and he is willing to share his knowledge.

Course Synopsis

Students will learn about paper, the use of brushes, pencils and other materials that can be used to obtain effects.  You will gain an understanding of mixing colours, dry brush work, also an explanation and use of complimentary colours.  Basic exercises with brush and colour will be undertaken before painting a variety of subjects.  All exercises, paintings and drawings of composition with perspective will be demonstrated and one to one assistance will be given if required. 

This is a light-hearted and fun class, so bring along your sense of humour.  Ron will also cover the importance of framing paintings and their presentation.
