Craig Penny, Melbourne
Craig studied art at the University of Ballarat, Victoria, where painting and graphic design attracted most of his attention. He pursued a successful career as an illustrator in the advertising industry and became a member of the Illustrators Association of Australia. Craig’s career has progressed into a range of mediums including skills in computer graphics. As a result he has also undertaken a successful career in teaching both traditional drawing and illustration and digital drawing and illustration at both Victoria University and Swinburne University. This has led to an extremely successful solo career.
Course Synopsis
This class will be exploring the acrylic medium and its wonderful versatility. With demonstrations by Craig each day, participants will be encouraged to explore their own techniques and creativity. A wide range of subject matter will be covered, using photographs and a session of plein air painting. Topics will also include contemporary methods and mixed media (e.g. collage).
Craig’s classes are always a lot of fun, and students of all levels are welcome, from beginners to more experienced painters.
