Course Synopsis
Students will be asked to ‘let go’ and stretch their comfort zones in approaches to their own work styles, subject matter and thinking processes. Through demonstrations we will explore a mixture of techniques and mediums tapping into the intuitive and creative process of making art and painting in a playful manner. Creating art is an activity that relies on the extremes of spontaneity and discipline. Rules are meant to be broken. Journal and/or personal diary work will support the more practical aspect of gathering information, self-expression and concept development. A series or sequence of works will be produced giving voice to the individuals’ perception and personal experiences.
