Materials to be supplied by the student

PAPER
Fabrino ARTISTICO Hot Press Watercolour Paper, 300gsm x 2-4 sheets
Fabrino ARTISTICO Hot Press Watercolour Paper, 600gsm (1 – optional)
You need 2 stretched papers for the first day and 1 (1/2 or full sheet) second day

BOARDS
Gatorboard or marine plywood or five ply boards
Please have 2-4 boards available for use. The boards need to be 5cm larger in all directions than your intended paper size.

BRUSHES
S&S Copper Wash, Squirrel Mop Brushes sizes 0, 1 & 8 -12
1 Rigger brush and approximately 3 in varying sizes of round taklon brushes
1 colour shaper, taper point for utilizing masking fluid
(A Chinese mop will substitute for the mop brush if you prefer not to outlay too much money to start, but will prove necessary for the serious student to continue.

REFERENCES
Please bring your own reference material such as photocopies, photos etc for subject ideas to start your painting. Be aware of copyright issues. No reference material will be provided.

Approximate cost to the student: Depends on materials in current possession – up to $350. Please note that these costs are approximate, and depend on factors such as quantity, quality etc

Coffee mug – tea, coffee, milk and sugar are not supplied by the School.  Classes pool funds to buy supplies for the week which can be stored in the Tea Room provided.  Please note that students are responsible for keeping their allocated tea room clean and tidy.

IMPORTANT: All electrical equipment required for your class at USQ must be ‘tag-tested’ by a qualified electrician prior to arrival in order to comply with Queensland Workplace Health and Safety legislation. Items include: extension cord, radio/CD players etc.

HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES AND MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS
If you bring any hazardous substance to the McGregor School, could you please ensure that you obtain a MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) from the supplier or obtain one from the manufacturer of this substance.
To do this, either ask the supplier from whom you purchase the hazardous substance, or read the contact details on the hazardous substance and contact the manufacturer and ask for a MSDS). Once you have obtained the MSDS, bring it with you to the school, and hand in a copy to the McGregor School office and or the Tutor.
Hazardous substance can be: e.g. solvents, acids, some paint and glues, chemicals, fixatives, fluxes and solders.
If you are unsure, the Supplier and or manufacturer should be able to inform you if the substance is classed  as hazardous.
