Materials to be supplied by the student
Assorted Pastels, I use both hard - Faber Castells brand, and/or Soft pastels - Micador brand will work best.
• Willow charcoal sticks assorted thicknesses.
• Black or sepia ink if you have some, Art Spectrum is best.
• 2 sheets of Art Spectrum Colour fix pre primed pastel papers in light shades.
• Support board slightly large than the pastel paper 2 if you have them.
• Artists acrylic paint assorted colours.
• Range of paint and pasting brushes, fine through to a 2 or 3 inch for pasting.
• Foam rollers approx 2 inch from the hardware.
• Ice cream lids, plastic knife or spatula. Masking tape
• Gold or silver powder/pigment eg. if you have some.
• Water spray bottles.
• Binder medium and gloss varnish medium, painting medium(Atelier works best) and some P.V.A. glue.
• sketch book, note book or journal, pencil, scissors, ruler, black texta marker, biro, blade, tissue paper.
• Good quality gesso.
• Modeling compound is preferred to impasto gel medium. Textured things like bumpy of rough paper, Collage papers, Japanese mulberry paper in white or Uryshi paper, fiber or fine string, fabric that is thread fine like gauze or cheese cloth. No plastic. Tools for making marks in the modeling compound.
• Two deep edge canvas, manageable size is about 50x50 cm or up to 90cm.
• Two or 3 sheets of Snowden cartridge paper approx 300gsm
• Apron, comfortable clothes and foot wear, water container, small bucket or large ice-cream container, some smaller containers.
• 6 sheets of cartridge paper A2.
Coffee mug – tea, coffee, milk and sugar are not supplied by the School. Classes pool funds to buy supplies for the week which can be stored in the Tea Room provided. Please note that students are responsible for keeping their allocated tea room clean and tidy.
IMPORTANT: All electrical equipment required for your class at USQ must be ‘tag-tested' by a qualified electrician prior to arrival in order to comply with safety rules. Items include: extension cords, hair dryers, and radio/CD players etc.

HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES AND MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS
If you bring any hazardous substance to the McGregor School, could you please ensure that you obtain a MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) from the supplier or obtain one from the manufacturer of this substance.
To do this, either ask the supplier from whom you purchase the hazardous substance, or read the contact details on the hazardous substance and contact the manufacturer and ask for a MSDS). Once you have obtained the MSDS, bring it with you to the school, and hand in a copy to the McGregor School office and or the Tutor.
Hazardous substance can be: e.g. solvents, acids, some paint and glues, chemicals, fixatives, fluxes and solders.
If you are unsure, the Supplier and or manufacturer should be able to inform you if the substance is classed as hazardous.
