Brushes:
Assorted nylon/acrylic paint brushes, through to a wide pasting brush, include a 2” soft goat hair for washes.
Paper/Canvas:
2 Art Spectrum pastel papers – 1 lighter shade, 1 dark and a support board
Canvases – deep edge preferred in assorted sizes – 3 small approx 25cm square
and one of a manageable size and perhaps one large
5 sheets drawing cartridge paper 100gsm – A1
3 sheets of 250gsm paper (oil paper)
Miscellaneous:
Spray water bottle
Foam roller approx 8cm wide from hardware
Disposable gloves
Towel, clean up cloth, comfortable shoes
Tissue papers and fibre papers with texture for pasting
Small amount of fibre/fabric, gauze or cheese cloth
Thin string or cotton knitting thread – no synthetics
Gold and/or silver powdered pigments if you have some
Journal for writing and/or sketch pad
Scissors, pencils, sharpener
PVA glue
Blade
Eye dropper
Spatula
Some of your own images if you need them, stencils if you have some
Ice cream container lids, small containers for washes and a water container
Coffee mug - tea, coffee, milk and sugar are not supplied by the School. Classes pool funds to buy supplies for the week which can be stored in the Tea Room provided. Please note that students are responsible for keeping their allocated tea room clean and tidy.
Estimated material cost: $0 to $300.00 – experienced students should have most materials
IMPORTANT: All electrical equipment required for your class at USQ must be ‘tag-tested' by a qualified electrician prior to arrival in order to comply with QLD WH&S legislation. Items include: extension cord, radio/CD players etc.
WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY – IMPORTANT!!
If you bring any hazardous substance to the McGregor School, could you please ensure that you obtain a MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) from the supplier or obtain one from the manufacturer of this substance.
To do this, either ask the supplier from whom you purchase the hazardous substance, or read the contact details on the hazardous substance and contact the manufacturer and ask for a MSDS). Once you have obtained the MSDS, bring it with you to the school, and hand in a copy to the McGregor School office and or the Tutor.
Hazardous substance can be: e.g. solvents, acids, some paint and glues, chemicals, fixatives, fluxes and solders.
If you are unsure, the Supplier and or manufacturer should be able to inform you if the substance is classed as hazardous.
