Migrant Security: Citizenship and Social Inclusion in a Transnational Era

The national 'Migrant Security: Citizenship and Social Inclusion in a Transnational Era' symposium will be held at the University of Southern Queensland on 15-16 July 2010.

USQ is at the forefront of social inclusion in the Australian tertiary education sector, has double the sector’s national average of students coming from low socio-economic backgrounds and is host to a nationally recognised Multicultural Centre.

Participants from a range of disciplines are invited to consider new formulations and experiences of citizenship and social inclusion from the migrant perspective. Papers are welcome on topics relating to migrants’ conceptualisation of citizenship, building secure communities, the politics of forgiveness and belonging, and transnational identities.
