About us

The Multicultural Centre was established in March 2005 with its objectivesmission and vision developed to build on the University's outstanding record of generating a futuristic vision and to:

  • support the University's vision to be a leading transnational educator
  • build on the Federally funded Living in Harmony Project
  • collaborate and form partnerships with government and community agencies, while still providing scope for strong stand-alone initiatives by USQ
  • provide a basis for cooperation with overseas educational institutions in the area of multiculturalism
  • create a high level of opportunity for closer cooperation with governments all levels, non-governments organisations, local communities
  • support a wide range of learning and teaching programs - including in the emerging Social Sciences area at USQ and support the interdisciplinary approach to multiculturalism
  • build on the 'The Benefits of Multiculturalism for the Darling Downs and Wide Bay Regions' project which has received support through State grants and which are specifically tailored to the needs of the regions where USQ campuses are located.

We also provide assistance, advice, support and information to all members of the University community and the local and international community.
