Post Parliament Event Toowoomba 2010

Members of Toowoomba's religious and spiritual communities and staff of the USQ Multicultural Centre have held regular meetings at the University to prepare for a Post Parliament of World's Religions event which will be held on Saturday, 4 September 2010, in the University Allison Dickson Lecture Theatre, room H102.

The event theme is "One World, One Family, One Hope". The focus of this event will be on inter-religious dialogue, combined project activities amongst religious and spiritual communities within Toowoomba and presentations on various related topics.

Baha’i community children performance.

Welcome by the Master of Ceremonies.

Welcome to country by traditional owners of the land.

Prayers by religious leaders/spiritual representatives of the region in their own traditions for a successful day and positive outcomes of the event.

Official Opening of the Post-Parliament of World’s Religions event and welcome to the University of Southern Queensland, the Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Bill Lovegrove.

Message from the State Director, Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

Welcome to the City of Toowoomba, Cr Peter Taylor, Mayor of the Toowoomba Regional Council.

“A New Global Interest in Religion and its Implications for Universities” paper presented by Dr Krzysztof Batorowicz, Director USQ Multicultural Centre.

“The significance of Inter-religious Cooperation” – Bishop Robert Nolan, Anglican Bishop of the West.
