Towards religious peace: the role of education
The world-wide repercussions of the publication of some cartoons in a Danish newspaper which dealt with political and religious issues has resulted in different reactions from violence and serious divisions in communities to concerns about freedom of speech.
Aim
This free public seminar, part of the Global issues Seminar Series sponsored by the USQ Multicultural Centre, drew speakers from different religious traditions and who are active also in peace and community development. The focus of the debate was on the role of education in the process of building appropriate relations and mutual understanding. The contributors included:
