This global issues seminar took place on Wednesday 3 June 2009.  The guest speakers were: Dr Abduresit Jelil QARLUQ, Associate Professor, The School of Ethnology and Sociology, Central University for Nationalities Beijing, China and; Professor Donald Hugh McMillen School of Humanities and Communications, Faculty of Arts University of Southern Queensland Toowoomba, Australia.

The seminar focused on 'Uygur intellectuals' in Beijing, analytically discussing their relationships with the majority society there, identifying issues and problems in those relationships, and offering informed, constructive suggestions to achieve a more 'Harmonious Society' in China.
