All students, staff and community members are very welcome to join in the day of celebration, which will take place during common hours (12.00pm - 2.00pm) on Wednesday 12 August at USQ Toowoomba campus quadrangle.

Past events
For the past two years, the Multicultural Centre, the Multicultural and Transnational Advisory Committee (MMSA) and USQ students from India have invited members of the university and local community to take part in the celebration of India's Independence day and enjoy its rich culture. The celebrations have been held at the USQ Toowoomba campus quadrangle area starting at 12 noon and finishing at 2.00pm.
Activities
The celebrations have had students bringing Bollywood to USQ with India's beautiful dances, music and fashion. India's cuisine was enough to make your mouth water from the taste. The program has consisted of prayer, flag raising and National Anthem, welcome speech, fusion dance, lunch with a large screen showing pictures from India, comedy skit, fashion show and closing. In the evening, there has been a screening of a Bollywood movie, open to all to attend.
