Papua New Guinea Independence Celebrations

For the past two years, the Multicultural Centre and USQ students from Papua New Guinea have invited members of the university and local community to take part in the celebration of Papua New Guinea's Independence, and enjoy its rich culture. The celebration has been held at the USQ Toowoomba campus quadrangle area starting at 8.30am and finishing at 3.00pm.

Activities

Activities for the day long program have included a flag raising ceremony, National Anthem and Pledges, followed by dancing, singing, music, provincial flag parade, fashion parade, sports, display of PNG artifacts and delicious traditional food, culminating in messages from guest speakers all representative of Papua New Guinea culture.
