USQ’s Faculty of Education has experienced strong enrolment growth over the past year and there is still time to enrol for 2012.
The Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching (GDTL) or the Graduate Diploma of Teaching (GDTO) is a one year course that is specifically tailored to students looking for a career in education.
Professor Nita Temmerman, Dean Faculty of Education at USQ said that it is an ideal time to enrol in these one year programs.
'Students can choose to study in the Primary, Middle and Secondary areas and can enrol on-campus, online or a mixture of both to suit their lifestyle,' Professor Temmerman said.
'Part time study options are also available for this program.'
The GDTL and GDTO programs will be reaccredited for the 2014 academic year.
'The world of education is one of constant change – and this is no different for Higher Education.
'As teacher education moves to a system of national accreditation and professional standards, the current one year GDTL and GDTO programs are to be replaced by a two year program throughout Australia.'
This change takes effect for the GDTL and GDTO Primary and Middle years programs from the beginning of 2014. For the GDTL and GDTO Secondary program the change takes effect from the beginning of 2016.
