USQ will kick off the new year by welcoming hundreds of new students to the Springfield campus for semester one orientation on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 February.
Students will have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities from a free lunch to campus tours while also getting the chance to familiarise themselves with USQ and the ins and outs of university life.
'The focus of orientation week is preparing commencing students for the coming year administratively, academically and socially prior to beginning their studies,' USQ Springfield Director Doug Fraser said.
'These students will be given a detailed introduction to their Faculty and studies, meet staff and fellow students and find out what to expect during their first year of studies at Springfield.'
On Monday, February 20 the program begins at 8.45am and includes an introduction to the campus, strategies for success, meet your Faculty and fellow students sessions, support services, and campus and library tours.
That evening, a Postgraduate Student Evening will be held from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, a Parents and a Partners Information Session from 6pm to 8pm.
'We welcome students’ partners and parents to visit and participate in the Parents and Partners Info session and be part of their family member’s experience,' Mr Fraser said.
'It is important if they are not familiar with university studies, they gain some understanding so they can provide support to their child or partner.'
The International Student Orientation will be held on Friday, February 24 from 1pm and includes registration, a campus tour, student visa information, lunch and information sessions on Studying in Australia and Staying Healthy in Australia.
The campus will host a Back to Uni themed party in 29 February. For more details, contact Samantha Miles
