USQ has recognised students from across the region with awards for their community work and outstanding academic achievements.
More than 70 students from Springfield, Brisbane and the Western Corridor were recently awarded a USQ Year 12 School Dux Award or USQ Community Award for their exceptional efforts.
Springfield Campus Executive Manager Doug Fraser said the university appreciated the commitment and sacrifice students made to become Dux of their school.
‘It is a wonderful achievement, worthy of recognition,’ Mr Fraser said.
‘In celebration of that achievement we have sponsored a $500 cash award to the Dux of 25 schools in the area.
‘Some schools split the award and offer it as an academic excellence award to a number of students.
‘The Year 10 Community Award of a certificate and $50 Sanity voucher was awarded to 33 recipients who have made an outstanding contribution through their service to their school and the wider community.’
Mr Fraser congratulated all awardees on the recognition of their great work.
