Bachelor of Applied Media (BAM) students are hard at work on the production of an exciting new variety television program aimed at connecting South East Queensland.
Connected is a mixture of variety, lifestyle and chat produced for 31 Digital, which showcases the unique diversity of culture and tourism in the region.
Connected Presenter and BAM Lecturer Ashley Jones said anyone with an interest in what is happening locally should tune into the show.
‘We have some exciting guests lined up including Andrew Winter from Selling Houses Australia, Comedian Steve Haddan, Tim O’Conner from Harvest Rain Theatre and ABC Brisbane’s Spencer Howson to name just a few,’ Mr Jones said.
The 25 episode season will be produced and directed entirely by USQ third year BAM students in Springfield and Toowoomba and features a range of segments designed to appeal to all ages and backgrounds.
‘Each show will feature a performance from an unsigned act or musician to showcase the thriving local music scene and an in-depth location-based story.
‘Every student will have an opportunity to work on all aspects of production and will be assessed on their performance.
‘Connected is a wonderful way for our students to get hands on, real-time industry experience and is one of the reasons why USQ applied media students are so highly valued by employers.’
Connected will go to air on 31 Digital on Mondays at 7.30pm and will repeat on Saturdays at 4.30pm beginning Monday 6 May.
