450 students to graduate from USQ

 

Close to 450 students from five Faculties will graduate from the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) on Saturday 9 September 2006.

Graduates from the Faculties of Arts, Business, Education, Engineering and Surveying and Sciences will don gowns and mortar boards for the morning and afternoon graduations, which will be held at the Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre.

The morning graduation will commence at 10.00am, with former USQ Chancellor Don Stevens AM, addressing graduates from the Faculties of Arts and Business.

Mr Stevens will also receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor of the University at the ceremony in recognition of his service to the University and the community in general.

Meanwhile at the afternoon graduation, which commences at 2.30pm, Managing Director of Russell Mineral Equipment, Mr John Russell, will pass on words of wisdom to students in the Faculties of Education, Engineering and Surveying and Sciences.

USQ Education student, (Bachelor of Education, Primary) Kerryn Therese Chapman will also be awarded the University Medal in the afternoon session.
