USQ Springfield welcomes Chinese students
Thirty international students will get a taste of what it is like to study at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) Springfield campus on Wednesday 2 August 2006.
The students from Zhejiang University City College (ZUCC) in China, will be welcomed by senior staff and tour Campus facilities, before sitting in on a lecture.
USQ Springfield Associate Dean of Business, Erle Stower, said the students were visiting the Campus as part of a tour of leading Queensland Universities.
'The students are currently enrolled in courses at ZUCC and are looking to extend to extending their University study in Australia.
'It is hoped that after the seeing the facilities at Springfield the students will be encouraged to study here in 2007,' Mr Stower said.
The group will also receive a brief tour of Springfield before visiting the University of Queensland (UQ) and Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
'Although the group is visiting other Universities we are confident that many of them will choose to study through USQ Springfield,' Mr Stower said.
'We already have a few international students who study on-campus and this number is expected to steadily increase over the coming years.
Photo opportunity: Media have the opportunity to meet with the students and their teachers during lunch from 12 noon. The students arrive on campus at 9am.
