Faculties rise to the challenge
Human Bowling: It's just part of the challenge of University …. the Inter-Faculty Challenge that is.
The University of Southern Queensland's (USQ) Springfield Campus will be hosting the inaugural Inter-Faculty Challenge on Tuesday 2 May from 11am - 1pm.
Undergraduate students from the Education, Business and Psychology Faculties will compete in a number of challenges determine who will claim the glory (and the trophy!) at the event.
USQ Springfield Career Learning Consultant, Guy Williams, said the Inter-Faculty Challenge was originally planned for Orientation Week but had to be postponed due to bad weather.
"Rain caused the event to be called off during ‘O' Week, but its going to become a big part of university here in future, so we've rearranged lectures, tutorials and even the community bus timetable so that the event can go ahead," Mr Williams said.
"The main idea for the Challenge is to have fun, provide an atmosphere that encourages interaction between staff and students and makes students feel part of the university,
"And, if you know the staff here, it's likely that they will compete in the Challenge as well."
Students and staff will compete in Human Bowling, Laser Skirmish, Trivia and a Tug-O-War.
Each faculty will enter a team in each event, but students not competing will also have the option to challenge each other before and after the main competition.
