West-Star Motors Twilight Recital

The USQ Performance Centre is proud to open its 2006 season of classical music with the first two West-Star Motors Twilight Recitals, to be held on Wednesday 22 March & Wednesday 29 March 2006.

The annual Twilight Series  showcases an exciting medley of exceptional local, national and international musicians.

Now, in its sixth year, the 2006 Twilight Recital Series will provide audiences with a superb line-up of internationally acclaimed artists ranging from piano to classical guitar.

Featuring this season will be young Darling Downs pianist, Jayson Gillham (22 March) and renowned Australian classical guitarist, Karin Schaupp (29 March).

At just nineteen years of age Jayson has established himself as one of Australia's finest pianists.

In 2004 Jayson captured the interest of Australian music lovers when he was named a semi-finalist in the Sydney International Piano Competition. Jayson was also awarded third place for his performance as a soloist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra Piano Competition in 2005.

Karin, who is one if the most outstanding guitarists in Australia, has performed widely on the international stage as a recitalist, concerto soloist and festival guest.

She has given countless recitals in Australia, Europe, Asia, The US, Mexico and Canada.

Audiences will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with Jayson and Karin, at a post–recital reception at the USQ Arts Gallery.
