Federal Minster to open USQ Springfield

 

Minister for Education, Science and Training, the Hon Julie Bishop MP, will officially open the University of Southern Queensland's Springfield campus on Monday 21 August at 3.30pm.

The campus, located inside Education City, has already attracted more than 400 students since commencing operation in March this year.

Programs are offered from the Faculties of Arts, Business, Education and Sciences and students can study at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

At the opening USQ Chancellor Bobbie Brazil, USQ Vice-Chancellor Professor Bill Lovegrove and Mayor of Ipswich, Cr Paul Pisasale, will address more than 350 invited guests, before the Hon Julie Bishop MP declares the campus officially open.

Guests will also be able to hear first hand what the students think of the new campus when interim Student Representative Council President, Ray Moxon shares his experiences.

USQ created the Campus at Springfield to provide higher education opportunities in Brisbane's rapidly developing South-western corridor. USQ has two other Campuses in the state in Toowoomba and Hervey Bay.
