More than 500 students to graduate from USQ
More than 500 Faculty of Business and Faculty of Science students will graduate from the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) this weekend (Saturday 8 April 2006).
Owner and Director of Withcott's Erhart Group of Companies, Wendy Erhart, will address Business Graduates at the Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre from 10am.
Wendy was honoured as the world's most successful business women in 2005, receiving the International Women's Day Veuve Clicquot Award.
University Medallist, Adam McAuley-Jones, will be one of the 276 students graduating from the Faculty of Science at 2.30pm.
Adam is the son of USQ Education Lecturer, Lesley McAuley-Jones, and attained a grade point average of 6.9 to achieve First Class Honours.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research) from the University of Newcastle, Professor Michael Calford, will address the Faculty of Science graduates.
Professor Calford has published over 70 research papers and chaired the Animal Welfare Committee of the National Health and Medical Research Council.
Two USQ academics, Deputy Dean of Sciences, Professor Gerry Fogarty, and Head of Psychology Professor, Peter Terry, will also be recognised on Saturday, with Excellence in Research Awards.
Both academics have published a huge collection of journal articles and conference papers and have supervised many doctoral students through successful completion of their PhD.
