High School Leaders to descend on USQ

 
Year 12 student leaders from across Wide Bay will descend on USQ this Friday 3 March, for the University's Youth Leadership Programme.

Close to 50 students from as far Childers and Nanango will attend the one-day event that aims assist senior students in becoming good leaders.

Youth Leadership Programme Coordinator, John McMaster, from the Faculty of Education, says the day will also help school leaders inspire their peers and represent their school with dignity.

"The Youth Leadership day is an excellent opportunity for School Leaders from across Wide Bay to come together and look at the attributes of a good leader,

"As part of the day, students will hear inspiring stories from leaders in their field, define the qualities of a good leader and learn how to be a dynamic public speaker,

"The USQ Faculty of Education feels really privileged to host an event that helps students release their potential," Mr McMaster said.

Urangan State High School Pastor, Troy Sullivan

Workshop discussion topics will include:
• Inspiring stories about Leadership
• The Nature of Leadership
• How to be a dynamic Public Speaker
• Leadership in Action
