Kate Ceberano and the Ergon Energy USQ Big Band
ARIA award-winner, Kate Ceberano will appear as vocal soloist with the Ergon Energy USQ Big Band Big in what is set to be a performance to remember at Toowoomba's Empire Theatre on Saturday, 20 October 2007.
The final performance in the band's annual season, the concert will include jazz, blues and swing favourites from across the eras.
Lecturer in Music at USQ and Big Band Director Martin Crook said the talents of the band mixed with the incredible vocals of Kate Ceberano are a sure-fire recipe for success.
'Having a musician of Kate's calibre visit Toowoomba to perform with the band is a real coup, not only for USQ but the Toowoomba community,' Mr Crook said.
Renowned for her soulful and powerful vocals Kate has won almost every entertainment award in Australia with her talents spanning from singing to acting and dancing.
'Having someone who's released five Platinum albums, four Gold albums and sold over a million albums in Australia alone gives you some idea of the talents of this lady.'
'We've mixed up the program to include a variety of combinations and a whole lot of old and new favourites like Moonlight Serenade, Unchained Melody, Route 66, Tuxedo Junction, I've Got You Under My Skin and It's Only a Paper Moon.'
Renowned Australian musician Kerin Bailey also joins the line-up to accompany Kate with jazz rhythms on keyboard.

Ticket prices are $38 for adults, $35 for concessions, $30 for university and secondary students and $20 for primary students. The performance starts at 7:30pm in the Empire Theatre, Neil Street.
