USQ Corporate Club in Parliament
Members and guests of the USQ Corporate Club travelled to Parliament House in Brisbane for their monthly networking function on Wednesday 6 May 2007.
Almost 60 local businesspeople boarded the bus to Brisbane for the event and enjoyed a guided tour from hosts National Party members Mike Horan and Stuart Copeland.
Visitors enjoyed stories of the historic building as they walked the halls and sat in the Chamber of Legislative Assembly.
Two sparkling chandeliers worth more than $70 000 each were a highlight, as were the tales of the time capsule that can't be found and the ghost that roams the halls.
The lights of the city sparkled as guests enjoyed dinner and drinks on the balcony overlooking the Brisbane River.
Manager of Corporate Club Cheryl Abberton said it was great to be able to give members and guests a chance to visit and network in such a prestigious location.
'It was a fantastic opportunity to see inside Parliament House with the tour from Stuart and Mike,' Mrs Abberton said.
'I've received lots of positive feedback from everyone. Most people had never been here before and really enjoyed themselves.'
Two bottles of Tyrrell's Shiraz Cabernet were won by Mal O'Halloran from Southern Cross Automotive in the lucky door prize.
Cobb & Co Museum will host the next Corporate Club networking function on Wednesday, June 20.
