Macbeth interpretation explained

One of the Bards most popular plays, Macbeth, has taken to the stage and Queens Park has come alive with pagan creatures and warriors.

Actors have thrown off their kilts and Scottish regalia and donned animalistic costumes from the underworld.

Set under an autumn night sky, this year's production of will take audiences deep into the pagan world where a number of themes and ideologies will be explored.

Now for the first time in the Festival's history, Director Scott Alderdice, and Costume Designer, Carolyn Taylor-Smith, will conduct two free forums providing audiences a detailed explanation of the production.

Scott said the interactive forums are designed to offer audiences a behind the scenes view of the show.

'In the informal setting of the Parkhouse Café we will outline our initial inspirations for developing a mythic world of dragons, elementals and human-animals as the basis for the characters of this production.

'Carolyn and I will discuss the processes utilized in developing the costumes and characterizations and the challenges encountered throughout the production process. We welcome participants to ask questions and join in discussion on the creative outcomes achieved.'

The Directors Forum with Scott Alderdice will be held on Thursday, 8 March.
Costume Designer, Carloyn Taylor- Smith, will host a forum on Friday, 9 March; both will be held at the Parkhouse Café from 5.30pm.
