USQ’s Business Faculty renamed to encompass Law programs
The University of Southern Queensland’s (USQ) Faculty of Business is preparing to embrace a new era when it is officially renamed the Faculty of Business and Law during an official event on Tuesday 12 July.
The decision to rename the Faculty was taken to emphasise the University’s commitment to providing cutting edge law programs, and will further cement its reputation as a leading educator.
The Faculty’s School of Law was established in 2007 and is one of the newest and most dynamic law schools in the country. Professor Allan Layton, Dean of the Faculty, said the name change will more accurately reflect the Faculty’s comprehensive range of programs.
This is a very significant development for the University,” Professor Layton said.
'We are confident that the name change will bring positive results. It will not only serve to enhance the Faculty’s profile in the higher education sector, but it will also be very appealing to students, staff and potential employers.'
President of the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce, Mr Geoff McDonald will assist in the evening’s launch. Guest speakers will include USQ Chancellor Mrs Bobbie Brazil, Faculty Dean, Professor Allan Layton and the Head of the Law School, Professor Mike Robertson.
