The USQ Heroes and Carnival float |
The USQ’s float displayed USQ’s distinctive of yellow and black. The heroes donned their capes and accompanied the floral float down the street lined with thousands of onlookers.
Ms Marianne Theios, the Events Coordinator said that the USQ float received a great reaction from the crowd.
‘Our float was definitely a good contender. The heroes were excellent in engaging with the crowd and fostering the carnival spirit,’ Ms Theios said.
‘The float was inspired by the current USQ’s Heroes campaign which describes a university that believes every student is a HERO.
‘The Carnival was a great opportunity to showcase USQ to the community and to present our enthusiastic team - a fun day was had by everyone involved!
‘It was also wonderful to see so many of our local and international supporters cheering us on many of our students were very proud to be associated with USQ and they took many photos to commemorate the occasion.’
The undoubted enthusiasm from the USQ heroes and the brightly adorned float caught the judge’s attention.
None of this would have been possible without the dedicated USQ staff in the Facilities Management, Graphics and Marketing teams.
These talented and committed teams worked tirelessly to create a brilliant and inspiring float which was reflected in USQ winning the Corporate Floral Float category.
