Dr K.H. Leong from (Petronas), Professor M.Bannister (CRC-ACS Research Program Manager), Professor A. Lau (USQ/CEEFC) and Dr H. Wang (USQ/CEEFC) will work together in this research project |
was launched in February.
The Centre for Advanced Composite Structures has been one of the most successful cooperative research centres over the past 20 years.
USQ’s Centre of Excellence in Engineered Fibre Composites (CEEFC) will be one of 28 organisations to participate in a five year, $65 million research program.
Professor Alan Lau, Director of the CEEFC said that being involved with the CRC-ACS provides recognition of USQ’s research capability and outcomes.
“The expertise of CEEFC in composites research is now well recognised. The involvement of CRC-ACS is another demonstration of the success of our centre and our people,” Professor Lau said.
'This is wonderful recognition of the work done in CEEFC and our new development in the last two years.”
The CRC-ACS has had a strong record in aerospace and defence research and has a long history in researching and implementing research in composite technology.
Professor Murray Scott, Chief Executive Officer of the CRC-ACS said that USQ’s input will prove valuable to the research project.
“USQ is our new member, and is taking a major role in this CRC-ACS, participating in four of nine projects,” Professor Murray said.
The current CRC-ACS project has been funded through to 2015.
