If it’s been awhile since you’ve dusted off your joggers and hit the pavement, then pull out your running gear and get ready for this year’s annual USQ Intercampus Duathlon to be held on Sunday 23 May.

Director (USQ, Springfield) and duathlon coordinator Doug Fraser said the event caters for everyone including family and friends.

'You don't have to be an athlete just someone who wants to give it a go. It consists of a 3km run followed by a 12km bike ride and then a 3km run again. The beauty is though, that you can do all three legs or enter as a team and only do one or two legs. Of interest to everyone who was there last year will be whether the USQ Finance section cheer squad will be there again in all their glory.'

While USQ staff and students can compete for the intercampus faculty and corporate shields, there are also categories for the fastest male and female. This year there will also be an age handicap category for those 35 years and over, again for fastest male and female undertaking the race as an individual.

The duathlon is held in cooperation with the Toowoomba Triathlon Club and is open to all USQ staff and students, plus family and friends. Entry is $10 per person which provides membership of the Toowoomba Triathlon Club for the 2010 Duathlon season of five races.

The duathlon will commence at 8.30am at USQ Toowoomba with registration being held between 7.30-8.00am. For more information or to register please visit the 2010 intercampus duathlon website.
