Careers on show at expo

The future may become a whole lot clearer for local high school students who attend next month’s Fraser Coast Careers Expo at Hervey Bay.

 
The Fraser Coast Careers Expo
will take place on July 21
 

The annual event, being held at the Wide Bay Institute of TAFE on July 21, aims to link employers and training providers with people who are thinking about their future career options.

More than 1000 Year 10 students from the Hervey Bay and Maryborough regions will attend the expo as part of their SET Plan work.

The expo seeks to showcase the range of careers available in the region.

Some of this year’s exhibitors are: Australian Brick and Block Laying Training Foundation, Blue Mountains Hotel School and Australian International Hotel School, Defence Force Recruiting, Queensland Police Service, Cardno MBK, EDI Rail, Fraser Coast Regional Council and Village Kids Childcare.

Tertiary institutions on show are: University of Southern Queensland, Wide Bay Institute of TAFE, University of Queensland, CQ University, Griffith University, James Cook University and the University of the Sunshine Coast.
