Stephanie Bayley and Molly Dunn
'test' the Wii games in preparation for
Open Day at Fraser Coast

It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it.
The USQ Fraser Coast marketing staff, Stephanie Bayley and Molly Dunn, had to play the Wii version of Mariokart in preparation for the campus’s open day.
The pair will help run a Wii competition for high school students as part of the open day activities on August 1.
Getting the Wii set up and figuring out how to run a competition based on the computer-animated car race was all part of the day’s work for Stephanie and Molly.
'It’s not often you get to play Wii games against other staff members at work,' Stephanie said.
'We could get quite used to this.'
The competition will be run in a lecture theatre using two giant screens.
Stephanie said they were expecting some serious competition on the day as teenagers pitted their Wii skills against one another for the winnings.
First prize is a $200 gift vouchr from EB Games. There are also prizes of a $75 voucher for second place, and a $50 voucher for the third placegetter.
High school students must bring along their school ID cards to register to play. Competition kicks off at 11am.
Others who attend the USQ Fraser Coast Open Day can enter the competition to win one of two iPhones. Details will be available in the program on the day.
The open day will provide information about programs and courses offered by the university both on the Fraser Coast, via distance education or from its campuses at Toowoomba and Springfield.
Open Day is dedicated to answering questions, giving information and getting a taste of what university is all about.
There will be entertainment as well as the opportunity to meet lecturers and staff from the faculties of Arts, Sciences, Business, Education and Engineering.
Information will be available about the Tertiary Preparation Program which enables prospective students to gain entry to USQ regardless of their level of education.
Nursing students from the Faculty of Science will conduct free physical assessments during the day.
The Ergon Energy USQ Big Band will provide entertainment. There will be lots to keep the children amused with face painting and a clown.
